Who we are
Bob Lam Solutions was founded by and is primarily staffed by, not surprising, Bob Lam. His client engagement philosophy is that for a select group of clients he will share his experience, lessons learned, understanding of the competition, and what he refers to as his “pixie dust” or winning formulas for success. He will enter into non-disclosure agreements and when appropriate enter into exclusive support arrangements. Fee types vary depending on the services arrangement provided.
Bob Lam Solutions will supplement its support by adding, when warranted, specialized expertise from a wide and diverse consulting base available to the firm.
Bob Lam is founder and principal of Bob Lam Solutions, a firm dedicated to providing highly appropriate consulting services to unite contractors and vendors with the US federal government in the pursuit of new and continued business in the areas of information technology, management consulting and outsourcing. Mr. Lam has over 30 years experience in international, federal, and state and local government organizations, managing activities in business development, sales, marketing, systems engineering, and line operations. He is a speaker on such topics as e-business, outsourcing, and performance-based and share-in-savings contracting.
Immediately prior to founding Bob Lam Solutions, Mr. Lam was a Partner in Accenture’s Worldwide Public Services business practice which partners with clients in numerous countries and cities throughout the world. Parlaying the firm’s success with leading commercial and other public sector entities across many industries and missions, Mr. Lam led federal government business development efforts, bringing forth leading-edge practices and information technology-based solutions. He successfully led business development wins for most federal departments spanning outsourcing, systems integration and management consulting. His most recognizable win was the multi-billion dollar border management US-VISIT program, which the Department of Homeland Security awarded to Accenture. Mr. Lam aided Accenture’s federal growth from $17 million when he joined the firm to $1.2 billion when he retired.
Prior to Accenture, Mr. Lam was an executive at Planning Research Corporation (since acquired by Northrop Grumman), management consultant at Price Waterhouse and systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems (acquired by Hewlett Packard).
Mr. Lam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and General Business and a Master of Business Administration degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
In addition to his services at Bob Lam Solutions, Mr. Lam is a guest lecturer to Virginia Tech and the University of Miami MBA programs; a member of the Virginia Tech MBA Advisory Board; and, a member of the [College of Business] Pamplin Advisory Board.
